SAKHA DIAMOND Corp. is the only company in Japan that imports and sells polished diamonds produced by its own factory in Yakutsk city, Sakha (Yakutia) Republic, Russian Federation. To tell the truth, part of jewelry products sold in the market are made from second-hand diamonds: the stones that were recycled after re-cutting, re-polishing and re-modeling into new products. Russian diamonds are famous to the world for its high quality. Actually 99% of Russian diamonds are produce of Sakha (Yakutia) Republic. Most of the diamonds from Sakha (Yakutia) Republic have a beautiful trigonal (rhombohedral) crystal structure with high dispersion index. The diamonds from Sakha (Yakutia) Republic have 20% share of all industrial and gem diamonds in the world. However the gem diamonds from Sakha (Yakutia) Republic have almost 25% share of the world. The above fact proves high quality of Sakha diamonds - the diamonds from Sakha (Yakutia) Republic.
Until now most of diamonds in the world are traded through the Central Selling Organization, established by DeBeers. And the market price of diamonds is researched and published as an international standard by the American authoritative journal "Rapaport Diamond Report". A price of diamonds in the Japanese market may be a little expensive. Therefore so as to cut down total cost of diamonds we have signed the Agreement on diamond business with the Government of Sakha (Yakutia) Republic, and in July 2003 we acquired a diamond polishing factory in the very place of its origin, Sakha (Yakutia) Republic.
